GENEROUS children and staff at Westbourne School have raised more than £5,000 for St Luke’s Hospice.
Children at the Broomhill independent school chose Sheffield’s only hospice as their charity of the year for 2017/18.
Thanks to a series of events ranging from a Westbourne’s Got Talent contest to a cake sale and entering a staff and friends team in the Sheffield Half Marathon, the total has shot up to £5,226.
And with more fundraising events still to come, the enthusiastic children are hoping that they will have passed the £6,000 mark by the end of their summer term!
“We have been delighted by the way in which everybody has thrown themselves into fundraising,” said Westbourne Junior School headmaster Jon Clark.
“St Luke’s is a much loved and very much needed Sheffield charity and we are proud to be raising so much money for them.”
